UPDATE: 8/22/25. The house has been sold.

This 4-bedroom, 2-bath hillside retreat was Randy’s home from 1983 until his passing in 2023. It is located on 1.21 acres with panoramic views, pool & spa, and a koi pond. The home was built in 1953.

From the Pinnacle Estate Properties ad:

“Set in one of Los Angeles’ most desirable neighborhoods, this Studio City location offers a rare blend of old-Hollywood charm and laid-back, modern comfort. Tree-lined streets, mid-century architecture, and quiet cul-de-sacs create a peaceful residential feel, while just minutes away, Ventura Boulevard delivers vibrant energy with acclaimed restaurants, stylish boutiques, cozy cafes, and weekend farmers markets.”

  1. Love the kitchen and the view. Do you have any idea what the house is listed for? Did Randy live there all by himself the last few years of his life?

  2. A John Deere Road sign, a concrete planter in the shape of his beloved red truck and a statuette of an eagle… sad that those were left behind, they were obviously important to him. I find this tour around what was his home for forty years has a strange sense of finality about it, but then seeing those three items made me cry. I was not expecting that reaction…

    1. $2,325,000.00 sold. If you click the zillion listing it shows date/amt. of sale. Also, I did same as you… “there’s his truck, there’s the Eagle… road sign…” Did you see the family photograph sitting on a shelf in laundry room??!! GOODNESS sakes, the realtor couldn’t be bothered to send the photo to his family in Nebraska?

      1. The family was involved in moving everything out of the house. The photos and video were taken before everything was completely removed.

  3. Hopefully a Meis admirer will buy the house and maintain it for the long term. Otherwise, I have to wonder if a 1953-built home, on a property with such views, will be demolished and replaced with a much bigger house.

Certainly, that was the fate of many Fifties-era houses in my old hometown of Vancouver, BC. Indeed, twas the fate of the house my wife and I sold in 1990, prior to our moving across Georgia Strait to Victoria.

    1. That would be such a tragedy, but not surprising. It seems to be the norm these days to demolish old houses with character and replace them with these hideous monstrosities.

    2. That would be so great!! There is no reason to tear it down. The kitchen is gorgeous. The house just might need a little updating, otherwise it’s a crime to tear it down especially since a well-known musician lived there for such a long time. I hope it finds a new owner to love it just as much as Randy loved it.

  4. I love to see his home where he told that he feed the deers.
Its little sorry that the house with the stunning view did not stay in the Meisner family.
I hope the new owner let it be and not build a new house.
