FOR THE RECORD, January 1976

For The Record was a newsletter published by the National Academy Of Recording Arts & Sciences. This issue was devoted to the Grammy nominees for 1975, with articles devoted mostly to the screening and selecting process. The Eagles were finalists in two categories: Song Of The Year (“Lyin’ Eyes”) and Album Of The Year (One Of These Nights). They lost in both at the ceremony held on February 28, 1976. This was the first time the Eagles were nominated in the album and song categories. At the 1973 ceremony, they were nominated for Best New Artist, but lost to America. Note that the newsletter was addressed to Randy Meisner on the last page, c/o the Eagles’ accounting firm at the time, Bisgeier Breslauer, on Sunset Blvd.
