Randy Meisner
Santa Barbara County Bowl, Santa Barbara, CA
March 29th, 1981
Randy opened for America during an afternoon concert at the Santa Barbara Bowl. Dave Mason was scheduled to appear, but cancelled due to illness. This concert marked Randy’s last U.S. tour date of 1981.

“Meisner struggled at times with a voice that seemed tired, but still gave a solid, spirited performance that revolved largely around songs from his latest and second solo album, One More Song.
“Hearts on Fire,’ which has received quite a bit of local radio airplay, was the best of the lot, paced by Craig Hull’s guitar picking and Craig Krampf’s exuberant drumming. ‘Gotta Get Away,’ ‘Come on Back to Me’ and ‘Deep Inside My Heart’ were also outstanding.
“But the crowd’s strongest reaction came when Meisner reached back to his Eagles’ days for three of his finest numbers: ‘Try and Love Again,’ ‘Too Many Hands’ and ‘Take It to the Limit.'” –John Wilkens, Santa Barbara News-Press.

“Ex-Eagle Meisner, contrary to the gloomy image glowering out of his album sleeve, performed with the cheeky, dizzy cheer of a young Paul McCartney.” –George Sargeant, Santa Barbara Independent.
