The following article appeared in the June 7th, 1967 issue of Broadside, a Boston-based folk music magazine. The article was written by Carol Sterkel, the magazine’s Denver correspondent, who had seen the band play the previous night at The Exodus, the area’s prominent folk music nightclub. She describes being “overwhelmed’ by the “five groovy young men,” whose “vocal blend is intricate, funky, and lots of fun.”

Hi, Marci! Actually, “here” meant Denver. It’s a little confusing. Carol Sterkel was the magazine’s Denver columnist. They don’t make that clear, but I guess regular readers of the magazine knew. When I first read it, I thought the Exodus was a Boston nightclub. I had to do some digging to figure out that it was in Denver, and was actually a rather prominent one.
