By May 1969, Randy had already left Poco and was a member of Rick Nelson’s newly-formed Stone Canyon Band. But articles about Poco (or Pogo as they were still known at that time)1 with Randy as a member, were still being published.2 This piece from Tiger Beat has all the trappings of a teen-oriented article from the time. Groovy language and offbeat descriptions of the band members), plus a cute photo. There’s lots of interesting info and tidbits thrown in as well.

- Pogo changed their name to Poco in April 1969 after Walt Kelly, the creator of the comic strip character, Pogo, threatened to sue them. Randy had already departed the band in late February, so the band was known only as Pogo while he was still with them. ↩︎

Jim Messina later formed Loggins and Messina with Kenny Loggins and one error that I noticed is his birthplace. He was actually born in Maywood, California.
