In March 1983, Randy made a surprise visit to KOLT radio Scottsbluff to promo his new album.
In 1970, Randy ditched the L.A. music scene & moved back home to Nebraska. He took an 8-5 job and eventually started a new band with some guys who were attending college in Scottsbluff. They called themselves Goldrush.
Randy talks about his life and career in this rare 1991 interview with the Scottsbluff Star-Herald’s “Prairie Magazine.”
The talent show was sponsored by the Student Council Foreign Exchange Committee. The proceeds benefitted the foreign exchange student fund.
Rehearsals for the show on Monday, March 27th at the school auditorium (see school schedule on the left). A photo from the 1961 Scottsbluff High School yearbook (right) shows Randy and classmates, John Ankeny and John Roberts, during this rehearsal session. Ankeny was Randy’s bandmate in two of his high school bands: The Deacons and The Drivin’ Dynamics.
