The Drivin’ Dynamics celebrated their 40th anniversary during the annual Oregon Trail Days in Gering, Nebraska on July 13-14, 2001.

Randy, along with John Ankeny, Larry Soto, and Richard Rohnke, founded The Dynamics in Scottsbluff in 1961.

The weekend celebrations included jam sessions with former band members, plus a chili cook-off. Randy attended the Friday night festivities, but was unable to stay for the entire weekend due to a benefit his band, the World Classic Rockers, were participating in that Sunday in Ventura, CA.

Many thanks to the Dynamics’ former keyboard player, Steve Cassells, who was with the band from 1964-1966, for providing the following photos of the Friday night jam session on July 13th.

    1. Hi Peter,

Grady was never in the Dynamics. He was in an earlier band with Randy called The Thunderbirds. He was also in the Continentals and the Majestics with Dynamics member, Steve Cassells. I’ve heard that he was a fantastic guitar player and quite a showman.
